About Us
Welcome to the North Valley church of Christ here in Cave Creek, Arizona! If you live nearby or you are traveling in our area, please be sure to visit us for worship and Bible study anytime. We love to have guests! Our members are very friendly and inviting, yet we will not make you uncomfortable when you attend.
You’ll find a variety of people who together are trying to live and love according to God’s true Word. There are classes for all age groups, and we worship twice on Sundays. Our schedule is listed below.
Our goal is to help people know and obey Christ, so that they along with us, may grow into the “stature of the fullness of Christ.”
Please let us shake your hand and introduce ourselves, while we help you find a seat. We will participate in communion, sing a’cappella without instrumentation, listen to a sermon by our preacher, offer several prayers and our members will give of their means. Please feel free to just pass the basket to the next person as we never expect our guests to participate in giving. We look so forward to meeting you and your family very soon.
Worship
We endeavor to follow the New Testament pattern as we worship God on Sunday, the first day of the week (Mt. 28:1; Acts 20:7; Rev. 1:10). Our acts of worship are as follows:
Prayers will be offered to our Father in heaven, through the resurrected Jesus Christ. Jesus now reigns over His kingdom, the church, from heaven (Mt. 6:9; 1 Tim. 2:5; Rm. 8:34; Jn. 18:36; Col. 1:13,14; Rev. 1:6; 3:21).
The singing of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs from the heart to praise God and edify one another will occur throughout the worship period. Man made musical instruments will not be used. It is the way the first century church worshipped God. Each participant in the worship is encouraged to praise God in this way (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16,17; Heb. 13:15).
The Lord’s Supper will be served. It will consist of unleavened bread (a cracker-like composition) and the fruit of the vine (unfermented grape juice). Every Christian is encouraged to participate as we give thanks and remember our Lord as He instructed (Mt. 26:26-28; 1 Cor. 11:23-24, 25-26, 27-29; Acts 20:7).
An opportunity to contribute monetarily is provided for the members of the congregation. Visitors or non-members are not asked to contribute to the local work of the church. If you choose to contribute it will be entirely your choice (1 Cor. 16:1-2; Acts 20:35; 2 Cor. 8:12; 2 Cor. 9:7).
Listening to the word of God being preached offers opportunity for encouragement, hope, faith building, exhortation, instruction in righteousness and rebuke. “Amens!” are welcome and encouraged. Christianity results from teaching publicly and privately. You may also request a free personal Bible study. (Acts 20:20; Rm. 1:15-16; 2 Tim. 4:2; Ps. 106:48; Rev. 22:21).
At the end of many service’s contrite believers are encouraged to obey the gospel just like they did in response to the faith, the truth, during the first century when Christianity first started from Jerusalem (Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; Acts 6:7; Mt. 28:18-20; Mk. 16:15-16.
